Need a New Operating System For Your Computer?

Alternate Operating Systems for your Computer – Are you still running WinXP (which isn’t supported by Microsoft anymore), or did you upgrade to Windows7 and now you need to upgrade again but don’t like Windows 8?  We can set your computer (XP, Windows7, etc) with an alternate operating system such as ubuntu (free OS) which is loaded with apps and games that are usually free and can be easily installed or removed by you! Other free operating systems include Knopix and CENTOS (Community Enterprise Operating System). Check these link to see ubuntu in action:

Paradiddle

I first learned about paradiddles from Buddy Emmons.  He had a small board with ten short strings attached that he would use for warm up before a show. With this “Speed PiK”, by EZELL & HAWKINS, one could sit anywhere and warm up his or her fingers before actually playing.

A “paradiddle” could be any alteration of finger motions that would be used for playing a phrase in a tune, especially faster licks.  Here’s an example using thumb(T) and second(2) finger:  T,T,2,2,T,T,2,2 or T,T,2, T,T,2. It may be impossible to find one of these Speed PiKs nowadays, but if you play steel guitar or banjo using three finger picks, you can use the same types of patterns on your instrument to increase you hot lick speed!

I’m not sure if this manufacturer still exist.  I wasn’t able to find them on the internet.

Excerpt from "Guitar Zero"

Hello parents of music students!  Gary Marcus writes in his book “Guitar Zero” (The Science of Becoming Musical at Any Age):

“In studies of musical achievement, the one factor besides amount of practice that consistently predicts achievement is not whether you go to Suzuki school, or study under some other method, but parental support, presumably because most young children can’t apply themselves sufficiently without external motivation.”

So, I would recommend that you always encourage you child to practice on his or her instrument and praise them for their efforts and accomplishments.
