Notes on "The Christmas Song"

I have some E9th tablature from Jeff for “The Christmas Song”. Here is his funny notes also written on the tab!

(OR, CHESTNUTS ROASTING ON AN OPEN FIRE) (OR, EVERY CHORD YOU CAN PLAY IN “D”)

Everybody has heard this song. At a time when it is cold and you’ve nothing else to do, sit with this tune for a couple of hours.  It is a grand example of great chord progression and fun sounds on the E9th neck.  You don’t need a band, or a track.  All you need is two pedals and two knees, and a lot of time.  Then you will need a doctor.  This one is a challenge even for the best.

Jeff’s notes at the top of the second page:

OH YES, THERE IS MORE!  JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE DOING GOOD.

And on the edge of page 2:

We didn’t write in the chords because even we don’t know what some of them are, and we don’t care.  If you only play this song once a year, who cares what the chords are?
