Yes, You CAN read Music (Part 2)

In the first post of “Yes, You CAN Read Music I showed you a simple chord chart for the song, “Amazing Grace”. Click here if you didn’t see it. In this post I’ll show you an example of a chart that has both words and chords. Remember, you must be able to make chords appropriate to your instrument!  Go here to see some guitar chords! So far, I’ve been talking about how to play the accompanying rhythm for a song, not the individual melody notes.  I’ll tackle that part later! Here is a chart for “Amazing Grace” that has the chord-to-be-played written just above the appropriate syllable in the corresponding word. There are also hash marks (or slashes) above the words to show when to strum your instrument.
